Saturday’s Clawson Lions Club Car Show was overall pretty fun. It was rainy for 2/3rds of the day which made it less fun.
Apparently when Chris and I went to eat lunch, where we sat 25 feet but in full view of the car, someone decided to check for themselves if it was wrap or paint by scratching the hood down to the metal. I really hate people. Did come home with a Sponsors Choice 4ft Trophy (basically a silver medal) which is pretty cool. The good photos are by Chris Ordon.

Blue Roof Attempt
Finally found a source for Blaze Blue plastidip online that wasn’t ridiculously overpriced so I attempted to paint the roof on Rocket blue.
It looks great, except for the fact that I did a terrible job painting it. It looks like some kind of strange marble camouflage pattern or something. It doesn’t look good, is what I’m saying. It’s also peeling at the front already. I’ll leave it for a few days, then maybe just leave it on the spoiler.

Subaru Stealing My Color?
I’ve been seeing more and more matte blue cars as prototypes out there. This Subaru is really close in color to mine. #dragonBlue

Rocket J Squirrel is clean
Wrapped the beltline at Detroit Tuned this weekend. Getting close! Also added the Deluxe Chad Mod Tail lights to Chakik. Mmmm no chrome at all now.

MOTD 11 – Killboy Shots
Since the car was all new, I was obligated to buy some of the shots that Killboy got. Very happy with them always fun to see the car in motion.
These begin with the drive in Monday afternoon and end with the drive out in the rain on Sunday. -
Minis on the Dragon 11
We made it back, barely, from MOTD 11. Had fantastic weather while we where there all week until saturday and sunday. The car show was not only miserable to be at, but a miserable turn out. I won’t be entering it again, as its really just a popularity contest now, and whomever’s club has the most people show up wins. Yes, I’m bitter.
Otherwise we had a fantastic time, met some sweet new people, and reconnected with out of state friends. See you all again next year!

Its DONE!
Done! A few final hood tweaks were done tonight and it will be coming home with me tomorrow! Only 7 months in the making! Worth the wait? I think so, it looks absolutely brilliant! Chad at Detroit Tuned did so many little extra things that I never would have even thought of. Available to see in person next week at the Dragon!

Almost there!
Not quite done, but its all down to the little details now. We still have 7 days before the dragon, so its all good. This will ensure it doesn’t get dinged up in the parking lot at work before we get to share it with the MINI world!

Detroit Electric Blue?
Detroit Electric has revealed a picture of their first model, which looks awesome! But the color looks all too familiar.
Detroit Electric
Don’t get me wrong, this thing is sweet looking, and I doubt very much they looked at my minuscule blog and stole the color. Maybe something around here just says “Cars should be blue.” I know a lot of people that would agree.
