As is seems the last few years, my car is in pieces until just before The Dragon. All parts are finally back at Detroit Tuned and final reassembly is a GO! I’ve been very curious as to how the Prior bumper would look when it was on. Thankfully it looks great especially with the 4 Hella Black Magic lights in it.
Also did the Chad mod on my other tail lights, had him black out the backup lamp surround this time to.
Updated Rocket with M7 (Grillecraft) grills and wired up the halo’s in my aftermarket xenon lights.
Very happy with how it all turned out. Got the front side markers replaced with smoked ones, need to do the back.
My fingers are raw from the work, but it really is one of my favorite times. Chad is very nice to just chill with while working, and he has great punk rock tunes.
I had a pair of aftermarket Xenons that I bought years ago for the cabrio and never installed.
Put them on Rocket. They look amazing, but one is already dead. 🙁
Selling the Checkered Flag mirror caps that came on our latest car. These caps are like new, only 14,800 miles on them. No yellowing. No broken tabs. These belonged to NASCAR driver Bobby Labonte, if you are into that sort of thing. These are for standard mirrors (not powerfold)

Also have leather steering wheels from an 05 and an 06 S. Both are in really good shape, the 05 needs to be cleaned, its been in my garage for several years. The 05 has around 44k miles on it, and the 06 around 50k. UPDATE: 2006 is sold, 05 still available.

After driving the 2006 JCW a bit, I realized how much I missed my MINI, so I decided to sell the Crown Victoria Police Interceptor and my Harley to get a ‘winter beater’
Ended up finding this 2005 JCW S, fully loaded with only 15,000 miles on it in North Carolina. I couldn’t not buy it (it was way underpriced too!) It belonged to NASCAR driver Bobby Labonte, it was stored in a garage and never driven. Came with a MiniFini bike rack, JCW car cover. Has aero kit, sport package, cold weather package, leather, nav, sunroof, harman-kardon radio, etc.
So now we are giving this one to Amy and I will use the 2006 we just bought for my winter ride.
We traded in Mieke and got a brand new 2006 S. Astro black. Already swapped out the grills and got rid of horrible chrome door handle cups. Purple to come soon.
We are selling my wifes Cooper if anyone is interested! It’s a great 2005 (easily the best year) Jet Black with purple accents. Here are some details.

Stopped by Detroit Tuned this weekend to install new speakers on the wife’s MINI and check the progress of v2.5 Its mostly back together, everything is painted, Chad is still figuring out the details of the bumper. I am really happy how it looks sans-badges.
Slowly but surely pieces are coming back in from the painter. Chad now has his annual “matte blue parts puzzle” to reassemble. I’m going to let myself believe that he really enjoys it. 🙂
I’ve decided to call this version 2.5, I dont think just the new bumper qualifies for a v3.0. Got some updates from Detroit Tuned, the poorly made and even more poorly supported Prior font bumper has been fitted and mounted. Car is once again prepped for paint.
One good thing is we got to shave the badging off this time! So out of ashes rises another phoenix.
